Twin Dent Reactivation Campaign: 8 Clients From a Four-Year-Old Whitening List

2026-07-13 - By Dimitar Georgiev

Key findings

160

Contacts provided

133

Active emails after 4 years

67

Opened emails

8

Activated clients

Twin Dent had a list most businesses would have ignored: 160 old contacts from people who had signed up for a teeth whitening offer. The list was four years old.

Important context: this was not a clean patient database. It was a prospect list. These people had shown interest in the whitening service, but we did not know how many had ever become actual patients of the clinic.

That made the test more useful. If a four-year-old prospect list still had commercial life, then newer ad leads and missed inquiries should be treated as an asset, not as waste.

The result: out of 160 contacts provided, 133 emails were still active, 67 people opened the campaign, and 8 clients activated.

This is not a forecast for every old list. It is one recorded campaign. But it shows why reactivation belongs next to pipeline work: a business does not always need a new audience first. Sometimes it has already paid for attention and simply failed to keep the decision moving.

What the list actually was

The original offer was teeth whitening. The contacts were people who had signed up around that service.

That distinction matters. A patient database and a prospect list are not the same thing. A patient database carries a stronger relationship. A prospect list only proves previous interest.

In this case, we did not know how many of the 160 contacts had ever visited the clinic, received treatment, or become patients. The only reliable fact was that they had once raised their hand for whitening.

The numbers

The raw campaign result:

  • 160 contacts provided
  • 133 active emails after four years
  • 67 opened emails
  • 8 activated clients

That means 83% of the provided list still had active emails. Of the active emails, just over half opened the campaign. The final activation result was 8 clients from a list that already existed.

The important number is not only the 8 activated clients. It is the fact that a four-year-old prospect list still had commercial life. Paid attention had been sitting inside the business, waiting for a better follow-up system.

Why the campaign used only two steps

The outreach was intentionally short. We used only two steps because the list was old.

With a fresh lead list, a longer sequence can make sense. The person recently asked for the service, remembers the context, and expects some follow-up. With a four-year-old list, the risk is different. Too many messages can feel strange, even if the original signup was real.

So the goal was not to squeeze the list. The goal was to test whether the list was still alive and reopen the conversation respectfully.

That matters for agencies too. Reactivation should match the age and quality of the data. An old list needs a lighter touch. A fresh missed-lead list can support a more complete decision path.

What the campaign proved

Most lead generation work stops too early. An ad campaign produces form fills. A landing page captures names. A sales team follows up once or twice. Then the list gets colder every month.

The Twin Dent campaign was built around a simple belief: old contacts are not dead until they have been tested properly. If someone once showed interest in a real offer, the better question is not only "are they still interested?" It is "what useful reason do they have to pay attention again?"

For Twin Dent, the answer was a controlled two-step email reactivation campaign. The list was cleaned, the active emails were separated from the inactive ones, and the message was written around a real whitening offer rather than pretending the last four years did not happen.

Where this fits beside Pipeline

Pipeline is for reaching new prospects. Reactivation is for contacts who already entered the business once.

The operating logic is similar:

  • clean the list before anything is sent
  • protect the sending reputation
  • write messages around the actual decision
  • monitor opens, replies, and booking intent
  • hand qualified activity back to the business or agency

The difference is the source of attention. Pipeline starts with a defined market and a new prospect list. Reactivation starts with existing leads, old client lists, past inquiries, unbooked form fills, or people who engaged with an offer and disappeared.

For agencies, the opportunity is practical. A client may not be ready for another ad budget increase. But they may already have hundreds or thousands of leads that were never fully worked.

This is the bridge between our Pipeline packages and our Lead Reactivation offer for advertising agencies: not only finding new prospects, but activating the leads and contacts the client already has.

The extra value: boosted local search and brand recognition

The direct result was 8 activated clients. But the campaign also had a second benefit: it put the clinic back in front of people who had already shown interest.

Some people open and do not book immediately. Some search the clinic name again. Some visit the website, check the Google profile, look at reviews, or remember the clinic later when the service becomes relevant.

Those actions are not the same as booked revenue, and they should not be counted as clients. But they still support the business. More branded attention, more site visits, and more people checking the clinic can strengthen brand recognition and boost local search behavior around the clinic.

That is why reactivation should not be judged only by the immediate bookings. The main goal is activated clients. The secondary value is that the business becomes familiar again to people who had forgotten it.

The larger agency model

The Twin Dent campaign was a compact proof of a larger operating model. The full agency offer is built for paid-lead campaigns where the decision does not happen in one call: dental implants, aesthetic procedures, real estate, renovation, private education, and B2B services.

For those campaigns, the system can go deeper than the two-step Twin Dent test. It can follow the actual status of the lead:

  • booked appointment
  • no-show
  • showed but did not buy
  • quote given
  • silent after first contact
  • declined

Each status gets a different path. A no-show should not receive the same email as someone who received a quote. A person comparing a high-value service needs different content from someone who only needs a reminder.

In a full reactivation system, the decision window can include emails, website pages, social proof, and independent mentions. The goal is to create 11 to 14 useful contact points over the period when the person is actually deciding.

Three different sources keep pointing to one conclusion: email, website, and public proof. When the lead is ready to decide, the business is no longer just another ad. It is a name they have known for weeks.

What an agency needs to start

The agency does not need to build a new internal email department. To map the first client campaign, we need four things:

  • the number of clients, leads per month, and campaigns per client
  • an export of the leads per client, in whatever format exists
  • the call center statuses: appointment booked, showed, no-show, quote given
  • one short conversation about the tone of each clinic or client

SmartKey handles the sending domains, mailboxes, authentication, deliverability, email writing, and reporting structure behind the scenes. The agency keeps the client relationship, pricing, and front-end communication.

The honest summary

Twin Dent gave us 160 contacts from an old teeth whitening signup list. We did not know how many were existing patients. We only knew they had shown interest in the whitening service.

Because the list was four years old, we used a respectful two-step outreach instead of a long sequence. Four years later, 133 emails were still active, 67 people opened, and 8 clients activated.

That result does not mean every list will perform the same way. It does mean old leads deserve a proper reactivation test before they are written off.

The larger lesson is simple: paid attention should not be abandoned after the first follow-up. Even when immediate bookings are limited, reactivation can create extra branded attention, boosted local search activity, and recognition that helps the next campaign perform better.

This page is still a working case study. More detail can be added later: the exact message path, campaign timing, reply handling, and how the numbers shaped the agency reactivation offer.
